Some NGOs have accused CoD officials of harassing children belonging to a minority school. They alleged that the officials had visited a school in Hassan and asked the children if they knew any suspected terrorists.
“They showed them a photograph of a suspected terrorist and asked them if they had seen him or had known anything about him. This has terrorised the students,” alleged M A Sharief, secretary, Jamat-e-Islami.
CoD officials told MiD DAY that terror suspect Yahya had made several phone calls to the institute. So they had visited the institute and questioned the principal. However, the NGO insisted that the officials were victimising people belonging to a particular community.
