Kate Husdon

Ka
te Hudson is one of Hollywood’s most beloved actresses. We examine the career, family, relationships and gossip surrounding Kate Hudson.

Name: Kate Hudson
Date of Birth: 19 April 1979
Location: Los Angeles, California

Kate Hudson is Hollywood’s golden girl. Known for her radiant personality, Hudson is the daughter of the quintessential Hollywood ray of sunshine, Goldie Hawn. Determined to succeed without the help of her famous parents, Kate Hudson made her mark in Hollywood with her Golden Globe winning performance in Almost Famous. Kate Hudson has been repeatedly romantically linked to Owen Wilson.

Family
As the daughter of actress Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson grew up on movie sets. As such, she developed a natural affinity for acting. Further film influence came from Hawn’s long-time partner Kurt Russell. Kate Hudson sees Russell as her father. Her biological father, comedian/musician Bill Hudson who divorced Hawn when Kate was 18 months, has not had much involvement in her life.

Despite her determination to become an actress, Kate Hudson was determined not to trade on her mother’s fame. Goldie was reluctant to allow Kate to act while she was still a child, a decision Kate now applauds. Kate describes her mother as "the woman that I've learned the most from, and who I look up to, who has conducted her life in a way that I can look up to". Kate Hudson’s older brother Oliver Hudson is also an actor.

Relationships
Marriage
In 2000 Kate Hudson married musician Chris Robinson, lead singer of band The Black Crowes. The two made an unlikely couple, a petite, pretty blonde actress and a tall bearded musician. Robinson is also 13 years older than Hudson who was 21 when they wed.

In 2004 the couple had a son named Ryder Russell Robinson. Kate has since been outspoken about paparazzi hounding her son. She claims that such attention makes him self conscious. “Kids should always be kids. They should never be self-conscious of what they’re doing. That should be illegal” Hudson argues.

While Hudson and Robinson appeared to be content, they eventually separated in 2006 after almost 6 years of marriage. Robinson filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. Media speculation suggested that Hudson had struck up a relationship with Owen Wilson on the set of You, me and Dupree. However, the split was reportedly amicable and both agree that their son should be their number one priority.

Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson
While Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson repeatedly denied being an item, after they were spotted together in numerous romantic settings, all denials were in vain. While the couple appeared solid, they broke up in June 2007, two months before Wilson’s attempted suicide.

Kate Hudson was said to be crushed when she heard of Owen’s suicide attempt. The two kept in contact and reportedly looked cosy at this year’s Oscar after party. Rumours of a reunion were further fuelled when Hudson and her son spent the recent Easter weekend in Florida with Wilson.

Controversy
While Kate Hudson is one of Hollywood’s less controversial celebrities, she has had some aggressive run-ins with the media. In 2006, Kate Hudson sued British tabloid National Enquirer for libel when they published a story claiming that she had an eating disorder.

The actress claimed that this was a “blatant lie” and said that she was worried about the impact of such a story on young girls. She eventually won the court case and became one of very few people to get the newspaper to admit that they had intentionally fabricated a story.

Latest Movies
Hudson recently reunited with How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days co-star Matthew McConaughey for her latest release, Fool’s Gold. The actress is also set to star in My Best Friend’s Girl alongside Dane Cook and Alec Baldwin. She is currently busy filming The Bride Wars which co-stars Anne Hathaway.
